Surf Clinic: Semi-Private, Group Surf Lessons

Our group surf lessons are designed for people that want a little more one-on-one time than our large free lessons program allows.Registration is required to guarantee the spot and to make sure that we will have enough students to hold the classes. We need a minimum of 5 students for a session to be held.

Here’s how it works: Register online and pay online or pay at the store. Head over to the shop (1985 NE 2nd St., Deerfield Beach) and bring your own shorts, sun block, and a towel. You'll completed a waiver (only needed once) and receive a wrist band. You’ll grab a long board and walk to the Deerfield Beach Pier alongside the instructors. At the beach – IWS staffers like 20-year vet Kali “Da Big Kahuna” Montero and surfboard shaper Mike Pechonis – will then run down the basics like safety, paddling, and that vicious pop-up. After that, the instructors will take you into the water and the fun begins.

Online Waiver:

We require a completed waiver for every participant. If the student is a minor, a parent or legal guardian will need to complete the waiver. We only need the waiver completed one time.

1. What time are the lessons?
   9:30am - 11:00am. Arrive early.
2. Why do I need to register online?
   Our surf lessons are very popular and we must limit the number of participants per event. Registration guarantees your spot in the class.
3. What is the cost?
   The clinic is $25 per person. Boards and instructors are provided.
4. Where do we meet?
   We meet at the store: IWS, 1985 NE 2nd Street, Deerfield Beach, FL 3344
5. What if registration is closed online?
   Registration will close when the maximum number of participants is reached. However, you can still show up and be placed on a wait list. Occassionally, someone will register but not be able to attend. We do our best to make sure that everyone is able to participate.
6. How many students are in the paid, group lessons?
   There will be a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 30.
